Emma is crazy afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks. None of the rest of us are. She gets so nervous she doesn't know if she wants to be held or hide. So she does both. She is just so on edge she can't decide what would make her feel better. Mommy tried putting her in the crate and covering it up with blankets, but she tried to squeeze her way out between the wire on the crate.
Do any of you guys get scared like that? Is there anything that helps you feel better? Mom and Dad will try anything.

Big news - we're getting a new chicken coop at the end of the week! Dad bought a shed from a lady who is moving and he and Mom are going to convert it for the chickens! Cool! They also bought a small outdoor wire kennel that they're going to attach to the shed so the chickens can go outside. Mom says they'll have to put wire over the top so the chickens won't get taken by hawks and so they won't plan any escapes!
Happy Tuesday!

happy tuesday roscoe!
ReplyDeleteoh your chickens will be so excited! :) what a fun summer!
Poor Joanna... Sophie gets scared too, she just needs to be pet constantly. Stupid fireworks!
ReplyDeleteRoscoe, you live such a great life! We are sorry Joanna gets scared, sometimes I am able to use peanut butter to distract Java from things that scare him. Does she have a favorite treat? I grew up on a farm and we had five dogs and chickens too (and LOTS of cats and other critters). There is nothing better.

Aww poor Joanna! I don't know of anything that will help. Maybe talk to your vet and see if they have any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteI saw your comment on Clover's blog.. bully sticks are quite healthy for the pugs. It isn't flavored or salted like a pig's ear or a rawhide. It also doesn't fall apart at all. (I've tried breaking it in half and it was almost impossible!) They do tend to go abit mushy and then stringy when it gets chewed on one end. They do stink and can be somewhat pricey but I usually only give it to Gus and Indy for a few hours at time so they last quite awhile. :)
